India House Houston is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization located in Houston, TX. Our facilities serve a unique purpose for the community by connecting them.
Over the last 40 years, the Indo-American community has seen incredible growth within the city of Houston. Today, the Indo-American community stands at 140,000. At present there are at least three generations of Indo-Americans living in Houston. It was their collective dream to build a community center to cater to the cultural needs of the community, and India House was conceptualized. With growing population, changing trends coupled with economical diversity, the scope of the project widened to include many services and programs.
Completed in July 2008, India House opened its doors to serve as a vehicle through which we can reach the broader Houston community. Our programs and services include medical assistance with our Charity Volunteer Clinic, Legal Consultation by volunteer attorneys, Urban Youth Program hosted for the After-School program and Summer Camp for neighborhood students, Wellness programs with free Yoga and Meditation; Taekwondo and Language learning courses and many more activities and events. We provide our services and programs free of charge or at a very nominal cost.
We are also proud to provide our facility and infrastructural assistance to many non-profit organizations at a discounted cost allowing them to bring awareness and services to the community. Sareen Harris Health Clinic is one of our very successful collaborations with the Harris County, towards providing medical and health assistance at a nominal cost.
We are able to deliver these services thanks to our very encouraging and supportive Trustees, Board, Management Team, and Volunteers
Our mission is to unite cultures, create bridges and serve the community by bringing resources, education, services and Indian culture to Houstonians.
